The Art of Visual Storytelling provides participants with an opportunity to explore a range of visual ideas and begin to tell stories and develop narratives in a unique visual way. A visual language is a shared language a form of communication that can go beyond spoken word.

Through the course participants will:

  • Be encouraged to develop their skills in visual storytelling using movement, mime, *sign mime as well as a range of other physical and visual styles
  • Develop skills in adapting texts into a visual narrative style
  • Begin an exploration of finding a visual vocabulary and using this to support the development of a narrative
  • Respond to a range of stimulus to develop and devise a short theatrical visual narrative

This summer school aims to create an inspiring, challenging and supportive environment for BSL and English speakers to explore, experiment and increase their performance experience.
