EJ has been working in theatre for over 10 years; her first professional role was in Birds of Paradise Theatre Company's The Irish Giant (as DeafGurl/Mary) and Mouth of Silence. She has appeared in I Confess (The Arches Theatre Company, Glasgow); Blood Wedding (as Agnes) and House of Bernarda Alba (Graeae Theatre Company, London). She also got involved in OTHER (National Theatre of Scotland/Dundee Rep); A Woman Alone (short piece, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland), Deaf Improv Comedy (Deaf Improv Comedy, England), Tales From The Croft (Directed by Daniel Livingston, Solar Bear Ltd).
EJ is an actress, writer, and also BSL prompter for Edinburgh Fringe, Tron Theatre, Stellar Quines Theatre Companies, National Theatre of Scotland, BUZZCUT, Birds of Paradise Theatre Company, Solar Bear and Glasgow Film Theatre (GFT's Visible Cinema). She is founded new company, Turtléar, in August 2015.
She is profoundly deaf and British Sign Language is her first language, currently graduated from professional training at Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, BA Performance (July 2018).
The Studio was Turtléar's very first short film, directed and written by EJ Raymond (2016). Smoking Kills is ready to released toward the film festivals! Keep eye out at the film festivals at anytime soon!
